A-kon 25 T-Shirt Entry

This is my T-Shirt Entry for this year's A-kon's Design Contest www.a-kon.com/?p=469
The inspiration for this piece came from the theme: Celebrating A-Kon’s 25 years – Reflecting on the Past and Looking to the Future!
I know this one is extremely similar to past winning shirts, but that was on purpose.
I decided to base this one off the very first t-shirt ever designed for A-kon www.a-kon.com/2t4XcA/wp-conten… so I stuck to the red, black, and white color theme. Since in the original drawing the girl was facing the right, I decided to have mine face the left in a similar pose, to show reflection. The background is an outline of the flower Begonia which also symbolize reflection. Of course the fan is a very a popular item among all the convention goers who need to cool off. I wanted to include little things here in there from previous winners so that we may reflect on the 25 years A-kon has been around. Which I why also incorporated the hexagon pattern. I hope A-kon will be around for many more years to come and I will keep on attending even when I am old (maybe cosplay old grandma Sophie XD )
